Love this thread! I have the same truck 03 sr5 black with gray cladding. I pretty much plan on doing everything you are... debating on ome suspension as it seems stiff from what I've heard. How is it on the highway? Nice rig.

If it isn't clicking or binding. I would just get some new axles and install them with the lift. Just my 2 cents. If you are redoing the boots you aren't sure how much damage in there it isn't much more labor to just do the whole axle. And a new axle is like 50 bucks each from rockauto...

Check 120... I know one guy used it on here and he loved it and said with the atrac the trutrac was like unstoppable and got almost full lock. I can't remember the thread though.

Thanks for your help guys. There is a little dust shield that you can see the bolts but they are incredibly difficult to get anything on there. a socket is too big and a wrench I can't get the box end on at the angle. Such a PITA. I ordered new bolts from the dealer but of course they don't...

To clarify TC = Torque converter. NOT transfer case in this situation ;)

All, I'm working on getting my engine out to get it replaced (it's a sad story...). We got everything off and disconnected but the blasted torque converter bolts. It's almost impossible to get on them and we are trying to figure out the size of the bolts. We are thinking 10 or 12mm but it's...

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread. Question for you... do you remember the size of the torque convertor bolts? Also, any tricks to getting them off? I'm trying to pull my engine right now and we're stuck on this point. Thanks! Seth

Remember in the summer gas is $4+ a gallon and v8's are scary to people... in winter when gas is like 2.xx or 3.xx it's easier to justify it. Just my 2 cents.

So, short version, like 2 ribs of my serpantine belt ripped off, got wrapped in the crank, broke the crank oil seal and all my oil leaked out. Didn't throw any codes or low oil lights or anything. Right when I heard the belt slapping around I pulled over and had it towed to the dealer. Sure...

You didn't mention the BFG MT's as they are about 3lbs lighter than both firestone and goodyear according to tirerack for the 255/75/17's. I think this tiresize is awesome but i'm a little biased. Because the outer diameter changed you do get some drop in power fyi.
