Ah.. I have a 2000 SR5 and I have this exact same problem too. So far I've peeled it off the wood trim kit that surrounds the controls on the front doors, the passenger side vent and part of the center console. It's a slow, tedious process but it's not hard. I'm being careful to pull slowly...
