I believe this is somewhat inaccurate. Japan has a requirement for ALL cars regardless of age to be inspected and repaired every 2 years (it's called JCI). It doesn't get more expensive for older cars unless more repairs are required. That said, most people find JDM engines to be great...

I believe that color is called Azure Blue Pearl (Paint Code 8L6). It was only offered on 96, 97, and 98 models. Mine is the same color but I'm in Japan (mine is a Hilux Surf) and mine's 2-tone. I don't think they made my color combo in the US. Mine is the only one I've seen this color in person.

Looks awesome! How was shipping that over? I can't imagine that it was cheap. I want to get some for mine too but since they have to way a ton, I was thinking about making one with a welder friend of mine.
