2009-TE Rear Diff lock won't engage.

Just found a sweet 2009-TE. 88K miles. One owner. Super clean CARFAX. Very clean unused truck. 4LO wouldn't work due to lack of use, after several tries and use it will engage every time without a miss. Rear diff locker will not engage despite many tries. Cant find any info or threads on this...

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

Zero Pont Calibration x3 Seeing as this is a new vehicle with less than 8000 miles I decided to pursue the dealership rather than monkey with it myself. (NorthWest 4R) The first Zero point calibration was performed at the first trip to the dealership and it had no affect to solve the problem...

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

Home cooking and Zero point calibration. As a last resort we performed a zero point calibration this weekend at home exactly as described in the link below with a 2 cent piece of wire. Problem solved!! Thank you to all for your input...

Vsc or trac ■ VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) Helps the driver to control skidding when swerving suddenly or turning on slippery road surfaces ■ TRAC/TRC (Traction Control) Helps to maintain drive power and prevent the drive wheels from spinning when starting the vehicle or accelerating on...

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

Wheel sensor Thanks for the suggestion, I will mention this to the dealership (wheel sensor). Strange to me that none of this registers on the on board computer. Also the road is clear of dust and gravel build up.

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

Yes sir. It turns itself back on after several miles. Also why should I have to drive with such a feature turned off? Toyota should fix this issue....The whole point in having the VSC is for safety, at present its a Danger feature.

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

Perameters The tire pressures are spot on. The road is dry as a bone with no sand or gravel. We are well within speed limits for the road section. In essence we are plodding down the road at a very safe speed for the conditions and VSC will actuate unprovoked. The vehicle has been back to the...

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

The location in the video is the stretch of road that high lights the issue in both up hill and down hill directions, it also happens to be the road my girlfriend drives the kids to school on daily in this vehicle!!! ( SHE IS SCARED TO DRIVE IT) The vehicle will have the same issue intermitantly...

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

VSC sensitive/beep. I am not sure if it is supposed to beep when the VSC kicks in however mine does not and never has. The dealership has been very helpful, they have replaced the yaw rate sensor and performed a couple of zero point calibrations however as you can see from the video I posted...

Over sensitive VSC. Video links to show this issue in action. The VSC can be heard engaging also you can see the steering wheel shake. All this happens between 35 and 40 MPH while cornering. Mild non agressive cornering I might add!!! PC010003 - YouTube PC020008 - YouTube PC020009 - YouTube

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

Still no resolution. Went back to the dealership today and drove with the master technician, he explained the system should kick like this when cornering at moderate speed if the system senses slip. This still does not explain why it happens at 30-35 MPH when going up hill around steep corners...

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

Yaw rate sensor replacement! The Yaw rate sensor came in today and was replaced. Picked the truck up this afternoon and the same issue happened in the first real curve, turned around and drove straight back to the dealership. They are going to call Toyota engineering on Monday.:wtf:

5th generation Trail edition traction control problem.

Yaw rate sensor replacement. After dropping the T4R TE back at the dealership after the failure of the zero point calibration on Tuesday they ordered the new yaw rate sensor. Went to pick it up Wednesday afternoon and the part is back ordered until next Tuesday. I suggested taking it home and...
