    Undercarriage rust (pre-sale question)

Looking to buy another 4Runner . . . driving to Pittsburgh to see it tonight. No holes in the frame, but what do you think? Looks about right to me, not to bad for a 2003 that's live in PA all its life. Would like some second/third opinions though. Thanks.

    Simultaneous P0031 and P0051 Codes

Thank you, very helpful. So, first thing is to check the fuse, then the relay and if both are good, then the O2 sensor? How do you measure the heater resistance?

    Simultaneous P0031 and P0051 Codes

Did you ever figure out the cause? Just hit this myself.

Evap codes (ALL OF THEM). Where to start?

Thanks, I will look into this. I did notice that the nipple in the gas tank that runs to the vent by the fuel cap is loose on the tank side . . .looks like it may have been broken off. I'm guessing that's causing at least one of the codes. Going to try some putty poxy to seal it up.

Evap codes (ALL OF THEM). Where to start?

My ex-wife bought a 4Runner to use at her cabin on Friday and the car threw several EVAP codes on Monday. Codes include: P0446 P0441 P0442 We checked the gas cap and that appears to be sealed shut. The car does have a breather for the gas tank that runs to the fill spout . . . before we go...

    Power Steering Pressure Hoses?

Bumping this back from the dead . . . any luck with the RockAuto part and if so, what is the part number? I want to replace my hard lines since they are in rough shape and the $280 dealership tab is hurting me.

Replace u-joint on steering linkage to fix stiff steering?

I drive a 2004 4Runner and started experiencing stiff steering issues. Looking at the site, it appears that most people are fixing it by swapping out the entire lower shaft as shown at http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/96639-steering-column-u-joint.html. Have any of you tried...

Anyone running Ranchos or Bilsteins without a lift?

I have a set of Bilstein HDs on my 1997 4Runner and love them. They are a stiffer shock, but not in an obnoxious way. It feels like a luxury sports car and reduces body roll and lean. I drive the SUV in New Orleans, which has some of the worst roads in the country, and I appreciate how they...

    New tires and wheels

I ran 17s on my 2005 Tacoma and 2003 4Runner in the same size (265/70/17) and I'd say that the Pirellis are definitely the stiffest. I ran Icons (front) /OME (rear) on both my previous rigs and only have Bilstein HDs on this truck so that could be part of it. The Pirellis has a fairly...
