CV Boots and Manual Locking hubs

3VZE, fully loaded 1995 Runner. My CV Boots look like this: I was wondering weather to get OEM replacements or get a "Universal" CV boot kit. Is one going to be easier or is it worth the extra effort for a significant gain in longevity? Also, how much harder would it be to convert to manual...

40 MPH Up Hill On the Highway

I have a bad ECM in my 95 right now. It's shooting up a code 52 and it drives EXACTLY how you described your truck driving. When I swapped over to a working ECM that was California spec, to check the ECM, my truck jumped to life and no more power issues. My idiot light was still on, but I read...

    Just bought a 1st gen

Ouch. That audio system hurts me. Should've spent that $80 on repairs for the truck before dropping chump change on making an unreliable truck sound.... cheap. Not meant to offend, simply an observation. I did the same thing with my truck, except I spent $3000 on components for the system before...

oil level high at 4 quarts?

Changing a T4R's oil is usually done on level ground since the truck sits really high. My 300 pound, 6' 5" father has no problem sliding around under my truck.

    Dash bulbs burnt out

+1 I've got a 95 with no lighted heater / A/C controls. I'll be looking at it as soon as Long motor supply finishes replacing my knock sensor! =]

95 4Runner Pulls out INTERNATIONAL truck

Exactly why I jumped on the opportunity to help out another REAL 4x4! (Wish I had a SAS, but that's what the 1st gen 4runner was for.)

    Knock sensor location

Found it Found the knock sensor in a diagram... Hope this helps with anyone who also needs to diagnose their knock sensor. It's horrible job, just FYI. :ybrick: Look for "K 1"

    Knock sensor location

Knock sensor location - Resolved. At 130,000 miles, my knock sensor decided to trigger a number 52 Multi-function indicator lamp (idiot light) to go on. A 52 error code on the 95 4Runner I own specifies that the knock sensor isn't responding. Soooo, I went to go buy a knock sensor. I went to...

95 4Runner Pulls out INTERNATIONAL truck

Shoot, you've got me there. That "truck" might as well have been called an "SUV" to better suit its size, but I figured a picture's worth a thousand more words than I can use to describe it.

95 4Runner Pulls out INTERNATIONAL truck

Had a fun time pulling this thing out. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j136/T0MMM/060310175016.jpg Wish I had snapped another picture but the police were circling us trying to figure out why this dude decided to take a less traveled path. Ha. :bravo:

Simple Poll What kind of lights

Wow, after watching Lightforce lights be shot at, beat on, and bashed, I must agree: Lightforce lights are the professional choice. I've never seen a light take that abuse. Not to mention, looking at the filters they had for the 240 Series (On this page, very fun to read), they have an available...
