    Voltage range

Can't go wrong for $15. Think I'll give it a go as well. I was just trying to get the max OD that would get me to around the 14v I was seeing at 1200rpm with my alt. Thanks again for chiming in on this thread!

    Voltage range

Love it...great feedback! I was initially thinking 55mm without having done any calcs or knowing the exact stock dims. 53mm seems to give a 3:1 ratio...which jives with what I found earlier. I'm thinking the 55mm should do the trick at less rpms though. I found this helpful to double check my...

    Voltage range

Does anyone know the crankshaft pulley OD (Toyota 13408-62040) for the alternator belt offhand...and/or the stock ratio to the stock alternator pulley OD? I found this, but nothing about the cs-pulley OD yet: A 3rd generation Toyota 4Runner typically has an alternator pulley ratio of around...

The DB Electrical alts are advertised as new aftermarket items to the OEM specs. Seems pretty legit and they get good reviews from the research that I did before making the purchase. They come with documentation from the bench test results. See attached. Regulator activation shows 405 rpm...

Pulley on the DB alt is 62mm: Alternator 4.6 Concours 94-97, DeVille 96 , Eldorado Seville 93-97 | DBE Found this 53mm (stock?) http://www.metroautoinc.com/new/index.php?route=product/product&path=63_66_68&product_id=1120&filter=1349,951,1026 I'm wondering if the voltage regulator just might...

    CS-144 swap public service anouncement

Do you have any voltage issues with the larger pulley diameter? I got a CS144 from DB Electrical and it has a 62mm OD versus the (53mm?) stock pulley OD. Recently noticed that it's showing between 11.8 & 12.3v when idling at 650-700 rpm. From 1200 rpm up it seems fine around 14.8v.

A couple months ago I replaced my failed OEM alternator (just over 200k and kept it to rebuild) with a new aftermarket CS144 made by DB Electrical. I was planning to do the Big-7 cable upgrade via the kit from JeepCables.com but didn't have it yet when my alternator crapped out. Anyhow...

    Leaking CV boots after lift??

I rebooted at the time that I installed my SS 1.2 and experienced a little "burping" from the larger end on the passenger side. I was initially worried about a tear in the new boot, but all appears to be well after loosing a bit of grease. I ordered some worm gear style clamps from McMaster and...

    Muffler Replacement: Universal vs Custom

I went with the Walker after trying out a Magnaflow for a year-n-a-half and couldn't be happier. Walker 54681/54081 along with new hangers and gaskets. Really easy DIY if the bolts aren't all rusted, and not really all that bad if they are.

    Too many miles or not

278k is a little high for my liking. $2700 for a beater might be worth it IF it's in decent shape and has been taken care of though. Depends on how long you're looking to keep it and what you want to spend in maint. This one might be worth checking out if in the budget. Asking just over double...

Creating a thread to share the build & maintenance of my 2001 Limited that is nicknamed Trick Bag. Long story short, I got a little more than I bargained for in terms of how easy everything has been to work on since this vehicle has spent it's entire life in the Midwest. Most recently...
