I did the same a few months ago. I removed the unit from the door and gave it a liberal soaking in penetrant fluid. Then greased anything that could be greased and it's been fine since. I agree - dirt, water etc gets in there - especially with our winters here - and jams it up.

Worked great. As others stated - rolled it down a wee bit, then back up again. Everything works again. This, after fixing the door latch as it wouldn’t stay engaged in the locked position after the motor activated. Lived the slider pin inside and all good. Love the forums.

Thanks NorthernRyan. I'm in Edmonton and my rear hatch just started doing this a few days ago. I've tried spraying different penetrants and lubes in there to no end. It latched once when I slammed it hard. Since then - nada. I'll check out a wrecker and see what I can find. Time to sell this...

Did you ever find a solution? i'm having the same issue with my rear right signal - 2007 Sport. I've tried the bulbs, nada. Swapped sides - all okay. Tried a tester - tester blinks fast when on turn signal, fine when on hazard. Makes me think it's the signal switch causing the issue. Hmmmm
