Can anyone explain why V6 2WD has gone up 400-500 pounds in curb weight from 2009 to 2010? Yes, there are 30 more horsepower but that won't make much of a difference on the street.

Steering makes a difference? Start engine with serpentine belt off. It's OK to run for a few seconds. Best case scenario is noise goes away which means fix will be relatively inexpensive.

Wiring on top of engine and underneath fuse box. Wiring looked OK until I had to shift it around to repair mice damage.

The only worry you will have is the wiring. Hot and dry weather will dry out wire insulation and make them brittle. My '03 is like that and it has resided in So Cal it's entire life.
