Yep. That's what I use and don't have a problem with adhesion. This is in Virginia with a black 4Runner.

I'm still a maybe. Just dropped off new Pelfreybilt bumper (above) for paint. Most I've seen are matte black. I'm going with oem black to match body. May be harder to touch up, but that's a trade-off I'm happy with. We'll see if I can wrap up this project before the trip. I hope so. Also...

I saw this photo of your ram mount some time ago. Was inspired, but thought I should heavy up to the "D" size. Didn't look carefully at the dimensions of the arm and was surprised at girth and hefty weight when it arrived. I'll post a pic when it's installed. I swear it will be SFW.

What you are experiencing sounds identical to what I heard after installing my 3" toytec boss lift. Also have 285 70 17s. Only made the noise when turning left. I found it most noticeable when backing out of driveway. Like yours, brakes/no-brakes made no difference. It lasted for a few months...
