    Post Tundra Brake Upgrade question

Message...LAST Totally against my intuition but went to Jiffy for free brake inspection... sure enough, the rear brake drums needed resurfacing and I put in new pads. Problem seems to be solved. Sometimes I should just listen to folks. thanks all who replied.

Still looking for suggestions/help Any bright ideas out there? I'm somewhat convinced that the rotors must not be true as the "throbbing" on braking is very prevalent. Thinking of pulling rotors off to make sure they are seated flush. Since rotors are slotted, they can't be turned. So...

Just a quick thought... I replaced the brake hose on one side with a PROFESSIONAL GRADE BRAKE HOSE. I didn't do the other side since I couldn't get the hose off. Any chance that could cause the braking vibration? I would think not but thought I would ask. Thanks

Update to anyone following the saga... Jacked up front end and removed both tires. Everything looked ok. Re-torqued caliper bolts and bled brakes again. This time I included the rear brakes. I did see a few bubbles from both sides in the rear but that could be my setup. Bottom line, serious...

Took the 4Runner to get tires rotated and balanced. While tires were off, I checked the rotors. I surprised to find a little play. But guess that makes sense the rotors just hang until the lug nuts are installed then it is pressed against the hub. Will check drive shaft after work.

Pretty heavy front end vibration between 65-70. And significant vibration upon braking.

Both sides are pretty solid up and down. There's ever so slight of play left and right. I can hear movement coming from somewhere. I Have done TREs and LBJs back in 2013. Was hoping wheel bearings would be the culprit.

Hmmm. Never thought about rear drums. But my vibration is felt in the steering wheel and in the front. You still think I need to look at the rear drums? Thanks

    Post Tundra Brake Upgrade question

Prior to the upgrade, I had significant vibration upon braking. I replaced both rotors and calipers. Post Tundra upgrade, I still have the vibration. I have been living with the vibration but will have time during the holidays to troubleshoot. Anyone have a suggestion on where to begin...

Ordered calipers and rotors from JC Whitney. Went with StopTech slotted and drilled rotors. Guy in DIY on YouTube recommended those. Can't recall the the caliper brand but they were the smaller ones since I only have 16" wheels.

Thanks for the reply. Had alignment done not too long ago. Tires are fairly new and will get rotated and balanced soon. I did replace tie-rod bushings. I have steering rack bushings but haven't done those yet. I know the center bushing is really worn. And just to be clear, this is braking...

    Post Tundra Brake upgrade question

For full disclosure, I had vibration prior to the upgrade. Previous owner had switched to slotted rotors. Figured they must have warped. But post upgrade (calipers, discs and pads) I still have a braking vibration. I did not bead the brake rotors so perhaps the vibration will go away after...
