Post Tundra Brake upgrade question

For full disclosure, I had vibration prior to the upgrade. Previous owner had switched to slotted rotors. Figured they must have warped.

But post upgrade (calipers, discs and pads) I still have a braking vibration. I did not bead the brake rotors so perhaps the vibration will go away after some more use.

Anything else I should look at?

out of balance wheels or tires would cause bad vibrations...inspect other suspension components up front for wear. Possibly steering rack related too.

I'd start with wheels and tires first.

Had alignment done not too long ago. Tires are fairly new and will get rotated and balanced soon.

I did replace tie-rod bushings. I have steering rack bushings but haven't done those yet. I know the center bushing is really worn.

And just to be clear, this is braking vibration. I do get the 65-70 vibration. Was thinking that steering bushing might help that.

Sounds like you're on top of it...If the wheels and tires are good, I'd think its steering related then. Ordered calipers and rotors from JC Whitney. Went with StopTech slotted and drilled rotors. Guy in DIY on YouTube recommended those. Can't recall the the caliper brand but they were the smaller ones since I only have 16" wheels.

just to be sure, the shaking happens only while stopping/ slowing down using the brakes?

if it shakes while driving its something else.

Have you had the drums resurfaced yet? I've seen those out of round plenty of times causing a brake pulsation. If those are fine check the rest of the front end for any play.

you mention also that you have a vibration at 65-70, correct ?
To me that sounds like a balance issue, get the tires rebalanced but tell them you want a road force rebalance
if they don't know what your talking about, go to a different shop

I had a balance issue at those speeds, went to one shop had rebalanced, went to another shop, they did a road force, took my vibration out
