You're right, it was a gasket seal and it was on the threads like you stated. I got mixed up and tbh I still don't completely understand all the parts of the engine (I'm learning!) so you're right, it was a pretty minor and cheap job.

Oh for sure, I understand that. I'm a grad student studying molecular biology so I've been sent to work from home, yet friends of mine that work in the same building are pulling 12 hr days, every day because they work in testing. So I can only imagine the difference is a bit jarring!

We have the same GGM 4runner! I too, hate my chrome grill and think it looks tacky AF. What color is the grill, it looks different but I like that it doesn't match perfectly.

Looks awesome, great find! I feel like the is the sweet spot for 4runners... 4th gen V8s. And it still has so much life in it!
