i ran no muffler for a day and had to put it back on.. i couldnt drive without getting a head ache it was loud and dint sound tight at all. i ended up just cutting off all the pipe behind my muffler, it sounds a bit deeper but its definitely not aftermarket sound...
i love the upper compartment in the center console
funnny story about finding my upper compartment (about 3 weeks into ownership)
in the dark i had just yanked on the console and thrown my wallet in it. later that night i opened the console... the WHOLE console and alas my wallet was no where...
i just took mine off to repaint them
the crossmembers are slightly tricky i know..
you have to unscrew the long wise racks and the small kinda triangular piece at the front of those will come off, dont force it or the little tab will break then its time for superglue.
summary: unscrew...
i havent seen rectangular tips and i think they look a little too... "pep boys aisle 3" for me, but different strokes for differnet folks.
and i would suggest the deckplate mod too. its all about unrestriceted airflow which the deckplate does do- for a whole lot cheaper.
i bought the car with the K&N on it already, but i think they run about $200? give or take... and i think it is a DIY kinda job, cant be that hard to swap from stock.
hope it helped
so im looking at mufflers (magnaflow, cherry bomb, dynomax... typical things...) but how big should i get for my 2001 SR5 automatic 2WD with K&N cold air...
do i have 2.5" inlet or 2.25"?
and im probably just going to put a turn down pipe right out the back so does the back outlet size matter...
poor poor 4runner. i think i wouldnt have stopped chasing them until my legs fell off or their legs get chopped off... this is not right at all. i did my toilet papering, saran wrapping cars but paint and tire slashing? thats gone too far
ps. my SR5 has absolutely all the same features, except leather... but you should still get that thing down to like $10 at most, i just think their price is a lot. but yeah, thats a dealer for ya
hey dude im 18 and freshman in college... and i think 4runners might be the most popular car at my school (right behind all the pretty girls with jettas and civics) but yeah these things will last forever. but being 17 is a problem. i have had my runner for about a month now and im already...
