I switched the hoses around and that seems to have fixed the problem for now but we'll see when I take the truck out tomorrow.

Hey guys. I'm having trouble with my 4wd and need some help. When I shift into 4wd, the 4wd light comes on and then immediately turns off. Then the truck won't go into 4wd. However, when I pull the blue vsv plug, the 4wd light comes on and the 4wd works the way it should. Can anyone help me...

I'm having the same issue with my 4runner. Seal after seal are still leaking. A very reputable shop has been doing the work. The owner called me today and said he will refund me the money they charged for the original "fix" and that he didn't know what to tell me. They have replaced the seal...

I'm having the same issue as OP. So I changed around the VSV hoses and now the 4x4 is working fine. Even the light is coming on. So now whats my next step? Or is there a next step. It's working... so it seem like the problem is solved.... maybe... Thanks.

Update: I'm replacing the CVs and control arms with Toyota parts. The after market control arms aren' t machined correctly. Parts should be here tomorrow. Once everything is buttoned up all update this again. I've got a set of after market LDJs sitting around and don't have a money right now for...

Anybody know where to get LBJ boots? I've been looking on the ol' interwebs and can't find any. I've got some time off work next week and want to tear into the LDJs and replace my cv boots that are also tearing... If I can find some boots I'll try the tighten in the air and torque on the ground...

Yeah, both sides. IT's a concern. I've had my LBJs fail in the past and we all know what happens then :bash:

ahhh... interesting. The truck was up on jack stands when I tightened the nuts...

Just installed new Toyota Lower Ball Joints. When I tightened the bottom nut to 105 the boots were really bulging. As soon as I started driving a lot of the grease started coming out and about a week later the boots were torn. Any ideas?
