Here's Some Help with Navigation Install

If you look into the opening where your HU goes, look at the "ceiling", just to the left of the opening, and you will see an unused screw-hole. I attached my antenna there using the bracket that it came on and a 1/2 inch screw. If your antenna doesn't have a bracket, use a small L bracket and...

    Toyota vs BMW NAV

I just bought the wife a 2006 X3 w/ NAV. I must say that the Toyota NAV system is 1000x better/easier to use than the BMW's. -The Toyota has a touch screen. The BMW does not. This makes it very difficult to enter in addresses, or to look ahead on the map. You have to use a knob and toggle...

errr... I tapped the wrong wire and bad stuff.

The positive side will spark (and possibly cause your battery to explode) if you disconnect/connect it when the negative side is connected. That is why you should disconnect the negative side first when removing the battery, and connect it last when installing the battery.

    Damn...that's some major lift.

I think it's hideous. BUT, it is nice to see him out there wheeling with it and getting it all muddy......

damp smell coming form air vent

One othre suggestion would be to make sure the recirc is off. This lets more fresh air through the vent system. I can't stand that the recirc is usually on by default.

A horrible way to start the year......

Pretty sad. In fact, on my last shift in the ER, I had a young 37yo female come in who had chest pain for a couple of hours after work, so her family drove her to the ER. On arrival, she became unresponsive. Turns out she was having a big MI and went into V-fib arrest. We managed to bring her...

    Belt noise?

There is a TSB I guess for a known pulley prob on the '03s. I had about 5k mi on mine, and it started making noise like a worn belt. I brought it in and they replaced a pulley/bracket and it never made noise since then.

    IS300 Fog lights and T4R....

If it's the yellow lights you want, just replace the bulbs. Probably save you a lot of $$ from having to buy the new housings just to get a yellow light.... So do a search for yellow fog lamps, and you will find many discussions on which bulbs to get....Good luck.

How many people use manual shift all the time?

The only time I ever really downshift is when going up hills at highway speeds. It seems that the transmission gets into this funky state where it is constantly going between gears, so I just put it in 3 until I crest the hill I am going up. This is especially true when in cruise control....
