Has anyone actually been through this process? Also, what is the VDS in the VIN number range? Bringing copies of those into the dealership parts and service department should be enough to get this done? This is majorly helpful thanks!

I called the local dealership and the guy there said he didn't think there were any recalls on my 96 (b.s.). Shootmymime, all I see is red x's on your post. Since I would love to get my rig fixed for free, can you tell me what you posted there? Or a link or something? I need to get it done...

I also have a 96 SR5. Haven't pushed it too much but I have gotten it stuck. One night we got like 22" of snow out here and what do I do? Go play around in the 4Runner of course! It did a lot better than I thought but I tried to blast through a snow drift and lost my momentum and got stuck...

This seems to happen only sometimes, but it jerks enough to be really annoying. My throttle sticks right when I start from a stopped position. I have all the stuff to clean the throttle body and MAF, whether or not that's part of the issue. Is there something with the cables? A little help...

I just replaced the rear ones and had the drums turned a few months ago. So you're saying it might be the front rotors? That could be. I haven't had those done since I bought it (over a year ago).

On a similar note but not really, at moderately high speeds, i.e. 50+ mph, when I put a little pressure on the brakes my car shakes a little. Vibrates more like. It's fairly significant and shakes the whole car and the steering wheel. Any thoughts why that would be? Thanks. -Steve

I wouldn't want it much louder than it is now. You can hear it pretty clearly in the cab which is ok but I think if it was any louder it would be annoying haha.
