I just found out the filter is on a national back order, is it a good idea to use an aftermarket filter from auto zone?

I went to Toyota Dealership in Maryland and they wouldn't sell me "Toyota brand Dexron II or III", they suggested Quaker State ATF which they had on the shelf. I've personally never been a fan of Quaker State Oil... So I decided to go with Penzoil, I use Penzoil engine oil for all my vehicles...

I am going to flush the tranny myself tomorrow, I bought Penzoil ATF that is compatible with Dexron II, I'm assuming Penzoil is probably a good brand. Any thoughts on Penzoil ATF? Thanks.

Did it actually take 15K miles on the new fluid for the tranny to slip? And once he changed the fluid, did it help the slip?

So if I drop the plug a few times and dilute the oil with Dexron III, do you think I may be ok after lets say 12 quarts? Or should I consider flush? Thanks.
