moog heavy duty spring install - no more rear sag

yeah, that was a great call with the moogs... much higher spring rates at stock height. and cheap too. i didn't realize how much of a difference they made until i had uploaded the pics and compared them side by side. makes me kinda care about the rust bucket again.

moog heavy duty spring install - no more rear sag

based on another thread here, i purchased some moog heavy duty rear springs for my 92 from autopartsgiant.com to fix the rear sagging. they have a noticeably higher spring rate with more coils per inch than the stock ones. my first attempt prompted me to abort and purchase some new shocks...

Best kit for sagging rear on a 2nd gen 4Runner?

autopartsgiant.com still has them. select your vehicle and then search for "coil spring"... i just ordered mine yesterday. how hard are they to replace? do i need to use my spring compressor, or do they just fall out when the suspension is uncompressed?

check engine light came on - how do i read the codes?

well, it was a code 25, lean signal from O2, which apparently can be a bunch of things. i reset it and it went away. first thing i'm gonna try is the PCV valve, which was causing one poster here a code 25, and i've got all kinds of oil spurting out my breather tube, so i'm pretty sure it's...

check engine light came on - how do i read the codes?

kickass... just what i was looking for. from looking through those codes, it seems like there's not even a check for the evap system or tank pressure, so that's good. thanks man.

check engine light came on - how do i read the codes?

it's a 92, i'm guessing some form of obd-1... will i need to get a code reader, or are these the "jump two pins and count the blinks" variety? also, while i'm here, my only speculation as to what it could be is something in the evap system... i ripped it out and plugged all the vaccum lines...

EGR Delete - my first 4x4 mod

update pics - got rid of the egr vacuum regulator and the charcoal canister: here's a shot where you can actually see the plates i made (they're the only shiny thing in the engine bay)

EGR Delete - my first 4x4 mod

hmm, interesting point... i'll keep an eye on it and run 89 or 93 if i have to. and it's got 177k on it, so if it detonates and blows up, then i guess it's time for an SBC :)

EGR Delete - my first 4x4 mod

i got this 92 v6 from my uncle because it won't pass emissions, so i figure since it's already polluterific (and since i won't be driving it that much), i might as well rip out some potential problems, starting with the EGR valve. now you see it: and now you don't: the vanquished foe...
