Thanks for your input, fellow Canadian ( I'm Vancouver-born, eh?). I think I have it figured out: there are no pivots - as on the alternator - but rather tensioners that can be slackened to remove and replace belts. Go Canucks!
I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the old belts off the A/C and P/S pump pulleys on my '92 4runner: do the P/S pump and A/C compressor pivot? Haynes and Chilton are not specific enough to help me with my particular model. Any help will be appreciated.
