My son has a 98 2wd that is in need of new shocks. Will the Bilsteins 5100 work with the 2wd. I used these on another 98 4wd and love them. But will they work on the 2wd as well. Bilstein's web say they will not work, Why? Looking to lift the 4runner a 1-1.5 inches as well. I was thinking...
With any towing the tongue weight should only be about 10% of the weight. Too much and you will squat, to less and your 4runner will be very squirrely. You just need to position the weight on the trailer properly ( front to rear )
The last crossbar runs right behind the shark fin and is about a 1/2-1 higher. So loading anything from the back will not hit the fin. I welded a nut on the flat piece of metal and insert this into the grove of the existing rack. So the new rack sits on top of the existing and bolts in at 4...
