    Valor Tip - Stop sale??

A lot of dealers stock these so you might want to call around and see if any local guys have it in stock. I got mine from my dealer and paid the same price on partznet by printing out the page and asking them to match the price--and I did not have to pay shipping to boot!

ARB broken, mud and lots of broken parts

I am speaking out of my arse but I have always assumed they were designed more for looks than function, whereas some of the other manufacturers of bumpers (ARB, TJM, Warn, etc.) really put more into function.

ARB broken, mud and lots of broken parts

:biggrin2: I was thinking the same thing. I tried to pull a similiar size tree up a steep hill with the 12k pound warn on the front of my powerwagon so I could chop it up and haul it off. Well the tree moved very little before smoke came out of the electric motor of the winch.......needless...

3 Liter Diesel for the 4Runner

Check out this article on the new MB GL320 CDI. This introduction might seriously shake up the current market trends. Most manufacturers of SUVs have diesel engines somewhere in production they could source if the Benz is a success. I am interested to see how it does. If Jeep ever put the...

3 Liter Diesel for the 4Runner

I dont think we will be seeing a diesel in the U.S. 4Runner any time soon. Unfortunately, the efforts required to get the current engine available overseas to meet the emmisions requirements we face here would be too great to be feasible. However, I would think if Toyota wants to stay...

    buying used Rental 4runner

Hell yeah. If are going to buy a new one get one like fourty-four. I have seen lots of people not even flinch at buying a new one with 100 miles or so on it.....is that really a new car?

    buying used Rental 4runner

I agree with all of the above. I bet some of us (including me) put our vehicles more to the test than renters. I tow a 5000# trailer almost every weekend about 20 miles each way, floor my truck at least once a day, flex the suspension out on dirt roads, drive on rough roads to reach...

    buying used Rental 4runner

    1. With a rental you know the vehicle was serviced....with a privately owned vehicle you really dont Do you think only rental agencies have service records? Private owners also have service records. And even if they put them in the trash, it's as easy as driving down to their servicing...

    buying used Rental 4runner

I want to jump in here. I would consider myself somewhat informed on this issue as I worked for a dealer selling vehicles and helping out with buying used vehicles at auctions. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BUYING A RENTAL.........In fact there are some aspects that make buying a rental seem...

    Borla installed, air filter?

I dont know if this has been brought up or not, but you must use caution when you clean and re-oil this type of filter. You only want to use the amount of oil necessary, as excess will be sucked through the filter and can mess up some air flow sensors upwind of the filter. I dont know how...

    Intermittent vibration at constant speed???

Well the dealer of course would not drive it past the speed limit, which I can understand. I talked with the mechanic and he said that if it was driveline related that it would usually manifest itself at slower speeds than 80. He road force tested my tires (Dunlops) and said the most force...

    Intermittent vibration at constant speed???

This is a slower vibration than the fast harmonic vibration we have discussed before. It does not seam to make a difference whether the truck is accelerating or holding a speed. It is very odd....you can be driving eighty with the cruise on and it will be smooth as can be and then all of the...

    Intermittent vibration at constant speed???

I have noticed that my truck has developed a bit of a weird vibe. If I am going say 80 with the cruise control on or off, I will get an out of balance tire sensation intermittently. This happens with no visible change in road condition and no change in speed. I do not notice this problem on...

Help a Newbie Decide on an '03!!

Re: Re: Help a Newbie Decide on an '03!! This is a good idea, but those warrantys can run about 1200 bucks. If the dealer can "throw that it" then you would be better off having them discount the vehicle the price of the warranty. I wouldnt imagine you will be able to get them down too much...

Do you guys wheel like this?

Looks to me like an FJ62. That is a pretty good testament to the durability of the Toyota. I tried doing that once in my Dodge and I snapped an axle shaft. I guess that is the result of a dana 44 front end with 35" tires and a hungry 440 under the hood.:biggrin2:
