I was looking for a vid and stumbled across this...looks like an overseas 4R or LC, which makes it even cooler, of course

The music is a little different, but outside of that I thought it was pretty impressive!

I've wheeled like that before, but wouldn't do it in the daily-driven 4runner. I have a somewhat modified F-150 for that kind of wheelin.

That truck looks like it has a solid front axle.
What was the last year for the solid axle before the independent front suspension?

Solid front axle was in the 85 4x4's, but not 86's and newer.....in North America at least, but that looks to be somewhere else.

Looks to me like an FJ62. That is a pretty good testament to the durability of the Toyota. I tried doing that once in my Dodge and I snapped an axle shaft. I guess that is the result of a dana 44 front end with 35" tires and a hungry 440 under the hood.:biggrin2:

That's what I was thinking....that thing took quite the pounding and just soaked up everything. I was waiting for a parts yard-sale some of those times he just stopped dead, but it kept goin. Be interesting to know what he's running for suspension/driveline, but I just randomly found the vid so I have no idea.
