    Rear diff explosion

2004 4runner, v-8 4x4 limited. 100,000 miles. 2.5" lift and 265's on stock wheels. Was wheeling on clay and climbing about a 45 degree angle, myself and 2 passengers. I was not pushing too hard on this particular occassion - I have pused much harder with this truck before. So I am ascending...

Bilstein Height Adjustable Shocks 0-2.5 inches

It firmed up the dampening a tad. Still rides very smooth but seems to avoid the 'squishy' feeling it used to have. I left my rear shocks stock BTW.

Bilstein Height Adjustable Shocks 0-2.5 inches

I have run all manner of lifts. Spacers, Donahoe(ICON), Fabtech, SAW's, etc. These bilstein adjustables are the best bank for the buck available. I have a set on my 4runner and now also on my tacoma. Ride very smooth and resist bottoming well. Also, they are about as cheap as it gets for a...

3" lift packages...Does it change the way you tow?

I have 2" spacer pucks in the rear of mine and adjustables billies in the front. I towed a 5,000 lb boat to the keys and back this past summer with no problem. (1500 miles or so). You will be fine.

Let's be serious- how often do you really NEED 4LO?

    Everytime I go off-road...otherwise, none.

    short in-cab vid

It was raining like a motha this past weekend here in the panhandle. A friend owns a sand/clay pit. So, we decided to go out and wheel a little. Videos never do justice for inclines, etc...but anyway----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dphB5wkD8DY no problems at all on this section, it...

    Insurance

Your vehicle is covered when off-road just like when it is on-road. I have never seen an exclusion for being off the road.

    Daystar Did Not Measure Up!!!

HMMM...I am 95% certain the ones I bought were advertised as 2" spacers...They were red though... I did get a full 2", if not more, from them...perhaps call all-pro and ask them about it.

    Daystar Did Not Measure Up!!!

All-Pro sells a 2" rear spacer...I am running it currently. I paid $50 for mine - well worth it. And it rides NO different than stock.

center diff vs. rear diff locks

The center locking diff is to ensure that the front and rear driveshafts are getting power equally. Otherwise, the center "differential" acts as it should and will let the front and rear spin at different speeds. This is so you can drive your runner on the road in 4WD without 'binding' between...

Need Help Diagnosing Handling Problems [04 Limited 4WD]

Consider checking yout driveshafts.... Is the vibration something that is faster than the rotation of the tires? I had to replace the driveshaft(under warranty) on my previous runner. I currently have a 2004 limited 4x4 as well. Most solid vehicle I have owned.

Do you use Rain-X (or equivalent rain protection)?

I loathe Rain-x...The only thing it is good for is removing sap from your car. Unless you re-apply constantly, it has a detrimental effect IMO. It takes what used to be one large drop of water and makes it numerous small drops of water hence reducing vision.
