Not in all cases, depends on wheel offset and design. With 0 offset, chances are it will be fine but as you get into positive offsets, it’s not a guarantee that you’ll clear the caliper and the UCA.
It has a 1.5/1 in lift on it today, still has stock UCAs. I wouldn’t wheel it hard but it has enough clearance to handle level 1 and level 2 trails. There’s clearance at full lock with flex.
So had a welcome surprise. Put SCS Ray10 17x8.5 with FALKEN Wildpeak AT 285/70s on and no rub on the body mount. Had to remove the mud flaps and cut the front fenders but that’s easy enough. Guess I got lucky!
I went exactly the opposite on the FJ. Went to 315s and armor first and plan to regear soon. It’s been a slow boil on the performance degradation but hopefully it will be a nice refresh once I regear. Either way works, I was okay being slow but having protection and then catching up...
First, I made peace with what a Toyota is a while ago. It’s a highly reliable underpowered rig that’s reasonably capable.
On the 4R, It’s on 285s with stock skids and a full roof rack. Probably won’t get more but it won’t see any trails that would need heavier skids or bumpers because we...
I prefer Kuat but 1Up outdo be my second choice. I prefer the hitch engagement on the Kuat and I like the convenience of the built in cable lock. It’s not an absolute deterrent but it prevents crimes of convenience.
Some thing small and light like a single road bike or gravel bike I’ll throw it inside with the front wheel on (taking front wheels on and off quickly becomes a PIA). If I have two bikes or have my FS 29er, much easier to throw the Kuat rack on the back and go. The rack is also nice if you are...
265/70 Falken Wildpeak AT on VTX Rogue have slight rub at full lock when reversing. Going to adjust the fender liner and mud flaps as it shouldn’t take much.
