    5th Gen For Sale/Wanted Thread

FS: 2010 Trail Edition, low miles, LOTS of extras I have pulled the ad off of this forum. I misjudged the people on here and thought that advertising a tastefully modded truck at a good price would work. I do not appreciate the comments that could have possibly run off potential buyers that...

Does your 4Runner lean on the Driver Side

Mine has the ghetto lean also. It a TE and has a lean. Took it to the dealership and said it was not leaning enough to worry about it.

No driver controlled Dome light??? Are you Kidding me!

We have interior lights? I love my $55k TE and love it with all it's little faults. But, everyone knows that if you want a real trail rig with all the options from the factory.... You buy a Jeep!!:flamethrwoer2: (let's see where THIS goes!!):moon:

Where wouldn't you take your 4 Runner?

Finally got tired of waiting on a winch mount.

Supposed to rain this week in Arkansas. I'll see if I can load up me and the little man this Saturday and go do a little testing in the woods outside of town. Might be fun. Let me see what I can do to get some real world experience. I still have the tent on top from last weekend so I'll have...

Good idea but there is a black line (a/c I think?) that is right above the winch. We could have moved that but it would have involved some bending and moving some rubber lines and we wanted simple. Plus it's a lot of work and would only net a couple of extra inches.

All the pieces of the mount before being put together. Winch mounted welded together. Mounted on front of the truck. Bolted to the frame rails in the back in two places, on the bumper in two places, all with grade 8 bolts. Had to cut the aluminum bumper into two pieces to mount the plate...

Control box is mounted up underneath the front engine cover. Its about six inches under the front plastic piece.

You are exactly right. The frame "horns" that come off the vehicle frame and hold the bumper in place are VERY weak. Knowing they are my live of defense against a head on crash is not very comforting (ie: you can move them side to side about 1/4 inch with your hands). We actually went to the...

Finally got tired of waiting on a winch mount.

A friend of mine who did the fabrication and the install has the pictures on his camera and I have been telling him to get them to me so I can brag on his work... and he is taking his time. Sorry for the wait. I'll do my best to describe the install until I get the pics up. The centering of...

Good question. The piece of the grill that is cut out is for the winch lock/unlock knob and it is on the drivers side of the winch. That is why that cut out is offset. Now, if you are talking about the actual fairlead being offcenter, it might just be an optical illusion. It is dead center.

The weight issue is what really ended up driving me to do this. This was the first one we made and it needs a couple of tweeks to be perfect. The weight without a winch was 24lbs so the difference between it and a bumper is huge. Especially with the bumper weight extended over the front axle...

Real World MPG with 5th Gen?

I'm right there with you. I'm running the Gobi Rack and the 285 MTR's and I got a little under 16mpg on my last road trip. But the funny thing is, I get about 15mpg around town! Not much difference at all. The aerodynamics on the truck suck when the mods start.

Mounted behind front bumper in between the frame rails, attached at six places. I'll post some of the pictures of the actual installation later. Let the critiquing begin! The plastic grate will be installed again with a clip in application. Haven't had a chance to finish it yet.
