This is absolutely correct. My son rear-ended a Honda CRV with his Runner and her damage was minimal. The damage to the Runner however, because he hit at an angle, folded the "brush guard up, and sideways. What would have been bumper damage only, maybe the grille too, turned into bumper, grille...

AS promised, the parts are on, and here's the progress.......... Now, he's got to take off ALL the trim pieces, fender flares, etc... and get busy with a scrub brush cleaning it up to go to paint. Looks like it's gonna get sprayed "Black Velvet" with line-x bumpers and trim, if we can decide on...

We finally got the grille and lights in, and are installing them today. Pictures will follow. The corner lights and headlights are plug and play, with no electrical/wiring plug mods required. Now we need a bumper. We were going to go with the Shrockworks, but I need this thing back on the road...

Just how much does the code save you? We're about to pull the trigger on a Toytec/OME for my son's '99, and a little savings would really help since we're in the middle of the Taco front clip swap/repair as well. Body parts aint cheep! Bumpers either! The Shrock is gonna cost $1K without powdercoat.

The Taco core support went on without a hitch. Two big bolts at the bottom body mount location, and so far, all the a/c tubing, wiring harness, etc.. all fit and clip into the new support in more or less factory holes. I had to drill out the spot welds holding the core suppt to the inner fender...

So it's been a while, but the repair/conversion is under way. First order of business was to strip it down and remove all the accident damage, which really left us with a blank slate. Had to drill out the spot welds that hold on the 4Runner core support. First was installation of a new '02 Taco...

Well, I think we have removed all the damaged parts and are now left with a naked front end. Not a whole lot left, which is why I'm considering the Tacoma front end conversion. If we gotta replace everything, why not try something a little different, right? Before I go ordering a new core...

Thats the info I was looking for. Just so I'm clear on this... Since I have to replace the core support anyway, it's gonna be about the same amount of work to replace it with a Tacoma one and do the swap, as to do it all with 4runner parts? Would you believe that the Tacoma sheetmetal is less...

How much fab work? Do the fender/door lines match up without shaping? We have to remove the fenders, hood, grille, bumper, etc... anyway. The sheetmetal across the front that holds the radiator will have to be replaced too. Bumper, lights and brackets, and grille are off already. Fenders and...

I know I saw it on here somewhere, but can't seem to find it. Who did the Tacoma front clip mod, and how tough was it? My son bashed his T4r last week, but he's stripped it down now, and I think it's salvageable. The hood, fenders, and entire front clip are gonna have to be replaced anyway, so...

Not sure about the core support. The upper radiator support is pushed back, but the rad didn't get into the fan or anything. Looks to me like everything forward of the radiator is toast though. I'll try to post up some pictures later, and those of you who are more knowledgable than I can give...
