What coolant can be used to replace OEM red coolant?

Got some concentrated red coolant from a local dealer for $35 a gallon. I always use concentrated as I just buy a gallon of distilled water for 25 cents and mix it myself easily.

What coolant can be used to replace OEM red coolant?

I believe 2004 and later uses a different one (green?) that's supposed to last 100k miles.

What coolant can be used to replace OEM red coolant?

For genuine Toyota red coolant, $20 is prediluted so it's $40+/gallon concentrated. Amazon is $43/gallon concentrated, then it will come out near $50 after tax. Even Zerex or prestone is about $20-$25/gallon pre-diluted.

    Thanks! I haven't bought one for a while and now it's $50/gallon!

What coolant can be used to replace OEM red coolant?

Thanks for the info. What year is yours? My 2003 uses red but I read that 2004 and later uses a different one?

What coolant can be used to replace OEM red coolant?

Thanks! I saw the link to supertech @walmart. I was just concerned that some posts said that mixing non-OEM coolant with the red would gel up the coolant.

What coolant can be used to replace OEM red coolant?

It seems that the red coolant is hard to find. Any other coolant that can replace the Toyota red coolant (and not causing compatibility problem when mixing with the red)? Mine is a 2003 V8 that has been using only Toyota red. Thank you!

You're right. The Offroad Premium has almost the same thing for $10k less...

    6th generation brochure

I absolutely agree! With web sites, even though they are more interactive, finding the right info may still be tedious: click, click, click, oops, not this one, back, back, back, click some more... :wink2:

    6th gen (2025) 4Runner prices released

I was thinking of the TrailHunter so it has side airbags, 360 camera, crawl control, MTS, radar Cruise, electronics SDM, digital dash gauges that are configurable, 14" center display etc... that my 03 SR5 doesn't have. Also, it comes with factory 33" tires that 34 or 35 will fit without lift...

I'm afraid that most brochures already went the way of dodo bird now that web pages are much more interactive.

    6th gen (2025) 4Runner prices released

I paid US$30k out the door for my new 4.7V8 2003 4Runner SR5 in 2003. It's $51k in today's's dollars. So, it's still the same price for a 2025 SR5. I'm still driving my 03. 190k miles now. Thinking of getting a 2025 for the tech and more safeties.

Bought my brand new 2003 SR5 4.7V8 in March 2003. Still driving it today with 190k miles. Nothing needed beside routine oil change and timing belt.

Oh man, I missed a few pieces and now it came to US$510 (before tax) just for the rubber molding!
