    FS: 1987 4Runner - 1st gen - SR5 - Dark Silver - Many extras - $1,800

Located in Southern Wisconsin, about halfway between Madison and Milwaukee. After inheriting my late uncle’s ‘72 C20, my wife says we have too many vehicles, and I need to get rid of my 4Runner. I agree that the 4Runner is cooler, but the C20 has a lot of sentimental value, and the 4Runner...

    22RE issues

I had that same issue on mine, and it turned out I had the 3 small vacuum hoses on the throttle body wrong. The diagram on the hood tells you where each goes, I'd check that. While diagnosing the problem, I though it was a bad EGR valve. If I pulled the vacuum line off the valve and plugged...

    22re timing chain

I really like the kits from "Engnbldr" on eBay. I put one on 6ish years back, and have been really happy. Linky!

    E-Brake weak link

Both mine worked great, when they worked. My current one is all jammed up due to rust inside the drums, all the bellcranks are stuck. I know it's hard to find replacement front cables as well, but I don't think that would motivate the upgrades.

    '86 4runner SR5_needs a home

I'm really interested, provided that the body and frame are clean. I've got an '87 that runs great, but the body is too far gone. Pics? You could help me save parts of both...

Question about timing belt skipping a tooth

While smoke is almost always coolant in the cylinders, and coolant in the cylinders is almost always a head gasket. The 3VZE is known for head gasket issues, so that's likely what it is. Does the oil look ok, or does it look like a chocolate milkshake?

Looking for a body and frame

I've looked in the for sale section, and as for the other links, I'm in no way interested in a 2nd gen.

Looking for a body and frame

Hey everyone, I've unfortunately let the Wisconsin winter get the best of my 4Runner, and I've decided that the rust is beyond value to repair. I know many of you have projects sitting around, and was hoping someone might have something around they might let go for a good price. Fortunately...

    WTB ~86-89 body & frame

My 4Runner has let the Wisconsin winter get to it, and the rust is too far to reasonably fix. I'm looking for a new project with a good body and frame. I don't need an interior, engine or transmission, but I do want something with a sunroof. PM me with anything you might have. Thanks

Brake pedal issues after new rear lines.

We already broke the bleeder screw off, so any ideas on the best way to get the air out, or do I have to replace it?

Brake pedal issues after new rear lines.

Greetings, I blew out a rear brake line last week towing a trailer, and had an employee change my rear lines for a small fee because I just don't have time for it. After changing the rear lines, my brakes work, but the pedal goes all the way to the floor before working. We bled all 3 wheels...

89 22re develops miss after about 30 min

I would start by finding out what the code is. There's a trick to jump a connector with a paperclip to get the code. I don't remember it, but it's easy to search for. It could be the injector issue, or it may be the coil. When things warm up they expand, and that could be causing a bad...

    Ticking from front wheel

I have jacked it up and spun the wheel, and get no noise. It seems to only happen above ~20MPH. I checked for bearing play, and with the wheel on it does move a bit up and down, but only enough to say that it does. I've been told that there is almost always a tiny bit of play, but the...
