Brake pedal issues after new rear lines.

Greetings,

I blew out a rear brake line last week towing a trailer, and had an employee change my rear lines for a small fee because I just don't have time for it. After changing the rear lines, my brakes work, but the pedal goes all the way to the floor before working.

We bled all 3 wheels, and there is no air, but I'm concerned about the load valve or proportioning valve at the rear. We were unable to bleed it, as the bleeder screw broke off. Is this likely the issue? Does it really need to be bled? What's the best fix or replacement?

I think it would be a good place to start. My brakes were always pretty soft until I removed it. Now they are very stiff and feel solid.

Getting the bleeder screw out and bleeding the valve would be the first step. If it doesn't improve, swap it out for a manual valve.

Yeah, I had soft brakes even after bleeding until I found the bleeder off the proportioning valve. You should be able to replace the bleeder valve or just grab it with a pair of vice grips to bleed. Soaking in penetrating oil for a day or two will probably help. Go buy a flare nut wrench if you don't already have one.

We already broke the bleeder screw off, so any ideas on the best way to get the air out, or do I have to replace it?
