On Friday I was driving and my 2001 4runner stopped running. I pulled over and could not get it restarted. I got towed and had the battery and alternator replaced.

I have a humming/whining sound coming from the front of my 2001 engine. I also am getting a oil smell from the engine but not all the time. I looked arond the engine and could not find an oil leak. Any ideas???? Could it be my oil pump???? Thanks
My 2001 has a squekey rubber on rubber sound from the front when I back up. Does anybody know what is happening. It does not do it when I move forward.
