SOLD!For sale is a rare set of OEM Toyota front mud flaps for a 3rd gen 4runner 1996-2002. These are factory and bolt into existing holes on the fender when you remove your running boards. One mounting hole is a little torn up but not ripped. Rubber is still flexible and in great shape. Willing...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Frequent oil changes help a ton to keep the motor clean! Leak down and compression tests are good ways to get a rough idea of how a head gasket is, but there’s no sure way to know until it goes. I wouldn’t loved to due a Motor swap of time and money allowed. But now I’m just gonna see how many...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

It wasn’t great haha, Last coolant flush was when I did the timing belt about 85,000 miles ago. Coolant had no rusty tinge though, but my negligence definitely contributed to the failure.

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Mobil 1 full synthetic FTW! My 97 finally blew up on me. It popped the drivers side head gasket on cylinder 4. Unfortunately it blew 1000 miles from home just outside of boise Idaho:dammit: it made it until 365,000 miles though. During the tear down I pulled the valve covers off and was...

    4lo and ECT

Ect will work completely normal in 4hi. In 4lo there is no real way for it to “work” 4lo is geared so low that you really can’t get out of second gear. First gear is fairly short in these trucks also so the Ecu will shift to second before ect has a real chance to work. If you don’t mind me...

What are you putting off repairing on your 4Runner

For me it’s knock sensors and the knock sensor harness. It’s been on for 70,000 miles now because I don’t want to tear the intake down. I’ve probably already paid for the paid the parts in the bad gas mileage I’ve been getting but still lol. My other one is lower control arm bushings. With...

    Swapping a 2002 steering wheel in a 97

I have a 2000 steering wheel in my 97. All you need is the wheel and the clock spring. Cruise control stalks are the same. Great mod to get rid of the 2 post steering wheel! You’ll need a 19 mm socket and a T25 Torx bit.

5vzfe dies at idle if A/C is on

Wow I really didn’t expect this thread to get revived haha. The issue sort of fixed itself, if I knew that I was going to have to sit and idle for more than 20ish minutes I just turned the AC off or turned the truck off. Now it didn’t always do die after idling, it was pretty random and hasn’t...

Fixed... Gauge, AC Compressor, and Alternator Regulator Failure

Yes, I helped my dad rebuild his alternator on his 01 with 320,000. The brushes were $6 at oriellys and they're still working now with 20,000 more miles on them.
