Not intentionally... Im not sure how the vehicle finally decided I was trying to spur it into action but after about 10 minutes that felt like an hour I was able to shift.

The Googles also played nice that day and quickly led me to a good set of t4r forum topics.

In looking back at that one and others, several mention a manual override, but in the heat of the moment and having never heard of such a thing, that info zipped right past. Or maybe the 4runner absorbed the info directly from the phone and leaned how to help.

I just trimmed it.

Just bought a '99 limited 2wd last week. Needing to change the bushing in the shifter today. Seemed like a relatively simple swap.

Eventually I'm wanting to swap front bumpers and put a '98 flat bumper on it. Anyone know specifics on how that swap is done? I've heard it done before but haven't found very good instructions or detailed videos out there.

Man, what a lot of work. Worth it to me. At least 5.5 hours. Just finished up about 9 tonight. Here are my steps:

Hand Wash
Clay Bar
Hand Wash
Alcohol rub down (soak rag and wipe down painted surfaces)
Polish (mild) using DA polisher
Carnauba paste (by hand)
Polymer sealant (by hand)

I did not do the roof as I did almost the same process just before I installed the roof rack last June.

I'll take a pic in the sun tomorrow and if it shows any better I'll post it.

Washed, clay-bared and washed again. Tomorrow I will probably do that once more and wax it. As well as change the oil.

Swapped the E-locker rear in. Got everything buttoned up just gotta bleed the brakes after work tomorrow. It’s got 4.30’s and fresh seals, bearings and brakes. Should be maintenance free until I get around to gear to 4.88’s.

Then it’s time for the Fox’s up front. I’m in an essential job so I’m still working, but my evening activities are all closed. Leaves me home nights to wrench. Slowly making progress. Stay healthy everybody

Traveled about 3hrs Saturday afternoon with a buddy to Southern IL and picked up a spare e-locker axle and front diff in 4.30. I moved them in the garage on Sunday and started tearing them down.

Got the axle in the back of the 4Runner this morning to take over to Final Finish and get it sandblasted. The plan is to use Eastwood's rattle can with catalyst 2K aerosol epoxy and topcoat to give it a good looking, durable finish for the trails.

Now to order up all the bearings, seals, reluctors, etc. to rebuild the axle.
