What do you like/dislike about your roof rack?

How is the black anodize holding up in the sun? I hear it can turn purple over time. I won’t be lucky enough to park in a garage regularly. Same for all you Sherpa owners, or anyone else using the black anodized aluminum. How’s the color holding up?

What do you like/dislike about your roof rack?

If anyone wants to do me a favor, I’d love to see pictures and/or measurements if you have a ladder with the lift gate open. When the lift gate is opened, how much room do you have between the ladder and the shark fin? (Yes I know the ladder isn’t in the middle, but if it was.. how much...

What do you like/dislike about your roof rack?

Thanks for all the feedback! Lots of great things I need to take into consideration that I hadn't thought of. My goals are low profile, low weight, functional and adaptable, and it can't be ugly

What do you like/dislike about your roof rack?

I'm in the process of designing and building my own roof rack. There are obvious differences between a Gobi style tube rack, a Front Runner platform style rack, or something like the Prinsu in between. What rack do you have? And what do you like about it? What do you wish was different?

    Tapping into 12v Cigarette Lighter

Any pictures of finished product? What did you use, and how you did it? I have a voltmeter/USB charger on my dash bar and I've considering moving it.

    Air compressor choices

The smittybuilt is at the top of my list. But no one as mentioned the Desert Armor Beast yet. I want to get my hands on one and see if it will fit under the hood.

    Carrying 2x4's - back window?

I’ve carried tons of stuff hanging out the back window. 6-packs of 12 foot, 6” tall baseboards stacked on the center console and resting on the hatch with window down. No issues. I pull them to one side in a tight bunch, then bungee cord them so they don’t slide across the back. I did the same...

Wire through firewall, what’s the easiest spot

On the passenger side there is a grommet where the rear wiper fluid line passes through (at least I think that’s what it is). It’s black in the engine compartment but changes to clear tubing in the cabin under passenger kick plate. Anyway, I fed the wires for my fridge through there. Just...

5th Gen Tummy Tuck = ground clearance

Native to NC myself. Spent many summers on Lake Norman in Denver around Slanting Bridge. I did a flat belly skid on my CJ7 long ago. I had to use an adapter when I changed transfer cases and I had a machine shop clock the mounting holes. The adapter meant I needed a longer output shaft in...

Do all 4Rs default to recirculation mode for A/C?

Mine doesn’t. I wish it did. But it does default to A/C on if you hit auto with the temp all the way up. I always thought that was weird.

Is Moving the Spare Tire Necessary??

Has anyone deflated a larger tire so it would stuff in there? Like a 285/75?

    Fridge/Freezer - Convince Me

Fridge all the way. Others have mentioned why. But I’ll add.. I’m currently on a week+ beach trip. The house is full of Yeti’s and they’re all making runs for ice every couple days. My fridge is plugged in just chugging away. My brother has a Dometic, and after talking to him I took the plunge...

Crayz thought - Electronic Disconnecting Sway Bar

I wonder if there would be any way to prevent vertical movement if your mechanism was at the link, instead of on the sway bar shaft. I'm thinking like a locked-up ball screw, but could then be freed up and allow vertical travel? If that makes sense.. Not an electronic solution, but what about...
