I've got the same issue and was wondering if you ever discivered what the issue was... It was cold here this morning and the brakes wouldn't depress inititally. After working it. ( trying to push in the pedal with more and more pressure until they started to depress) the brakes work fine...

Just did this mod as well on my 99 LTD with a brand new Passport armrest in tan... Wow what a difference... wife and I both love the mod... Some things to note, you'll have to purchase 2 new screws as the ones provided with the new armrest are too short. think I used 2" ones and they screw...

I was wondering if anyone could let me know how to remove the armrest to install the new one... I just purchased one off the Bay and am waiting for it, but am curious, how to go about removing the existing one to switch the mounting plates..

Anyone have any recommendations for a shop that can do the timing belt and water pump at a decent price and knows Toyota's? Just got the truck and love it but would like to do some preventative stuff... 99 4Runner... Thanks
