Drove to Houston So, I took an out of town trip, about three hours away and, lo and behold, the mileage improved... up to 17-18 mpg. Sure, it's mostly highway miles but it's also got me wondering about the quality of gas I'm getting from my usual 'round the corner neighborhood gas station.

Hey folks, For about two years I've owned my '99 it averaged ~17 MPG in mixed use. Recently, it started slipping to 16, then 15, and today I filled up and figured about 14. Any suggestions for why this is happening? Many thanks, Tom
