Thanks...the speakers were replaced by the prior owner and I am wondering if there is an impedance mis-match with this amplifier or something. They definitely need to be replaced as they are way too tinny.
Anyone else made this swap. I did it last weekend. Needed slight mods to the old brackets and plastic around H/U and dash, but looks really factory quality.
Problem is the front speakers are very weak. They were great with the old OE stereo.
Also: Any recommendations for replacement/upgrade...
91 Runner w/Scion HU
Installed a single-disc scion h/u (sourced from ebay) in my 91 runner. Electrically, it was a peach (even did the diversity antenna mod). A little plastic work, and tweaks to the original radio brackets and it looks factory.
Problem is: front speakers are very weak...
