I didn't open it. I made that mistake with the original actuator and didn't want to do that again. I have the v6 so I had to split the Transfer Case open to replace the actuator but that didn't require me to open the actuator.

Thanks! Cracked open the transfer case today and got the TC actuator out. Looks like one of the motors inside actuator had seized. Not sure why hitting it with a dead blow didn't work but hopefully the new one fixes everything. Wish me luck lol

Transfer case motor issues… truck is stuck in low gearing. Transmission is shifting all funky too. It gets to 5th gear around 25mph. Pretty sure the transfer case motor is seized. Hoping that replacing it fixes everything.
