How the heck do you change avatar? Have I gone crazy?

I somehow managed to remove my avatar but couldn't actually *change* it, and now I can't find a way to set a new one. I know it used to be under "edit options" and I have found a couple threads from a year or so ago saying just that, but I can't for the life of me find it. Have I gone crazy? Or...

Looking for a November day trip (West-WA)

Hey guys! I'm in the Seattle area for my second year (UW student) and this year I have my trusty steed with me. I'm looking to get connected with some of you guys around here and find some fun trails, but for now could you guys help me out with a suggestion for a day trip for this Monday? We...

Sidewinder, Los Pinos area Monday 29th

Not to hijack the thread, but do you have rock sliders? (I'm assuming if you cleared bronco flats and sidewinder you probably do) I want to try the squeeze but the last thing I want to do it dent a door frame in. OP: we were just out in Anza Borrego over the weekend and the weather was...

    Rivnut tool to borrow?

I want to add extended roof rails to the front of my 4runner so I can put a little basket in front of a RTT for firewood and a gas can. 3 M6 rivnuts on both sides for the rails to bolt in to. I don't think that Harbor Freight one will work, I am trying to set rivet nuts/threaded inserts, that...

    Rivnut tool to borrow?

I'm looking into setting some M6 rivnuts (aka rivet nuts), but I have heard that you need a pretty serious tool to set stainless steel ones, not one of the little cheap ones. (as in one like this wouldn't cut it: amazon.com) Anyone have one that I can borrow? Or any advice on where to get a...

Howdy, and San Diego beginner trails?

I highly recommend Lusardi Truck Trail and Black Mountain Truck Trail in Pamo Valley right by Ramona. Easy enough to learn on, great views, and they are pretty darn close to most of San Diego. Just look them up on google maps, they both split off of Pamo Valley Road -- look for a big white gate...

I've asked them for a quote, thanks for the suggestion!

    Trip Report: Highway 395 (3/31-4/3)

Ok thanks, I'll have to keep tabs on the weather up there as we get closer to it. I'm trying to find a cool place to go camping where we can have some snowy fun but nothing crazy or dangerous so if anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated! (We'd be going around Jan 26-30)

    Petroglyphs & 4Runners! E02 12/9/17 Anza-Borrego Badlands!

Ok ok, I was only wondering if you had it properly scheduled but it seems you're going with the more 'winging it' route. It looks like I won't be able to make it anyways though but take some cool pictures for the rest of us!

    Trip Report: Highway 395 (3/31-4/3)

Would this be a safe trip in mid-January? Obviously there will be snow, but would it be so much as to make it impassible/dangerous? Or just enough to make it a winter wonderland and provide for some fun driving. PS: Sorry to revive an older thread, not sure if it's best to start a new one or...

    Petroglyphs & 4Runners! E02 12/9/17 Anza-Borrego Badlands!

I'm interested, I'll see if I can tag along. Any idea when you'll be done? And what the times would be if we decided to just do the first cave or meet up for just the second one?

Shop to do press work for rear axle rehab

Well even saving the $20 on the ABS rotor is better than having to buy it. I'm still trying to find a shop though, the one in Vista that was recommended above is telling me they won't use outside parts.

    Lifting question

Oh ok, it's all starting to make a little sense now. I'll look into getting the front Bilsteins instead of OME springs. Maybe I can sell the KYBs for a little bit too, I just hate to replace them so early. Thanks for the help guys!

    Lifting question

True, but springs shouldn't wear out very quickly. The front springs on mine are the OE ones and from the measurements I can find they haven't sagged at all in 15 years, and the backs have only sagged about 1". Obviously over time the fatigue on the metal will stop it from returning to its...

    Lifting question

I looked into the front shocks, and the Bilstein 5100s are only about 1" longer. It obviously is a difference, but I can't imagine it makes much of a difference, especially since it's split almost exactly 0.5" at fully extended and fully compressed. I don't fully understand the front end...
