i dont see the relation to holding the gas pedal at a time limit of 30 sec. has to do with the idle control valve..now if you held the pedal and iright away it start right up then may be the idle control valve...now if you had a leaking injector opening the throttle for 30sec will help draw...

over greased drive line shaft? what was the last service or repair, may be its related..

im guessing that this is a 3rd gen 4run...now you just pull on the belt to push the alternator back and add more slack to the belt to remove..next, use a flat head screw driver to pry between the alternator bracket and alternator, be careful not to pry on the weak area of the alternator body...

if you replaced the other stuff, the idler arm should not be a problem for you. its just 3 big bolt on the frame and a ball joint...and recommend having it aligned afterwards.

o2 sensors are like little batteries...with in time the sensor starts to react weak and slow...so i would recommend replacing every 100,000 miles...some car manufacture recommend at 90k. there is a way to test it but since your 4run has over 225,000 km (what is that in miles) i would replace...

sometimes its better to find parts localy...if you get it over the internet, you don't see what you're getting a till it arrives..then if something was wrong you have to deal with a long distance relation with your seller...so shop localy first..imo

your heater illumination bulb maybe?

do you have an external amp?.. hard to beleave that the dealer had it for two days with no answer.

i hope i dont ruin your day...it sounds like your first gear sincrow (did i spell that right)is going out..heres what you do to test this run the vehicle first thing in the morning and try shifting it into 2nd gear then shift into first...now if its smooth shifting into 2nd and first feel harder...

i think its the taillight..but u should have everything you need to tap into on your radio connector.

the wire harness should be running along the drive side of the transmission down to the crossmember the holds the tranny...but these connectors just don't come unplug...usually it gets caught into something and brakes the wire..
