On the right track but not quite... Yep, it was the rear hatch lock cylinder. Unplugged and everything went back to normal... ordered a new one from the dealer. Thank you :yo:

Ok ill do that too. it sucks because its intermittent and that of course makes it hard to troubleshoot. Im glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has had this problem, i searched but with no good results. Thanks for the advice.

you wouldn't hear shock bushings unless you are the hulk pushing on the bumper, sounds like may be bushings to me.

i live on a dirt road, that definitely looks like it sat in muddy water or a stream bed. i have never had anything even remotely close to that on my truck after years of driving on dirt.

That’s exactly what I’m worried about. When tight it feels ok but I hear a clunk once in a while now and I’m not sure what it is. I’ve also installed aluminum skids so maybe the frame is flexing and they are making noise, I dunno.

Total chaos. Why does it matter who put them on?

As I said, I’m asking if there should be play when it’s loose. They maybe have 15k to 20k on them.
