x2 on Goo Gone I've used it on both my 4Runner and BMW to remove the dealers decal off the back. No ill effect on the finish.

I got mine on Ebay for $160, shipping included. Alot better than the $240 the dealer wanted. Every week or so one will be on. I did alot of searching for one myself. I didn't have the factory rack either and was looking for OEM also.
