I can tell you from my own project... the time is a huge part of making something other than the factory snap on cover. For me, I have more nights and weekends "time" vs. $500 + for a snap on cover and upper grill. I think I'm aproching about 40hrs into templates and finish work with still...

Really curious as you guys run a few tanks of gas through how if at all the rack effects your MPG. Don't jump all over me with "that's not what we bought a 4Runner for" my Gobi had a 2-3 MPG drop. And if your do "overland" that equates to about 60 miles per tank... 60 miles could be the diff...

Thanks, I think it's safe to say running your test would yield the same results as when I had the truck on the jack. When completely unloaded and hand spun I get the clicking... when on the ground loaded turning I get the clicking... When given the "shake test" 12&6 and 9&3 no movement, but...
