I know this is old... but THANK YOU!! for this. Been fighting this issue for years. I cut the tape holding that connector up and water dripped out. Pins were corroded. Got a new junction connector from a salvage yard and cleaned the pins with a very small file and electronic connector cleaner...
I’ve been running Kirkland synthetic at ~12,500 intervals for the last 200,000 miles. Last report showed still had plenty of life left.

The spark is normal. The first spark is usually the result of the inrush current of electronics that have capacitors in them that are charging.

I’ve been stuck a time or two in a different vehicles with no winch.
I’ve always had the saying... I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
However I frequent bad roads several times a year.

How would the computer know that the speed was incorrect? Is there any GPS input near that year?
If there was a gear ratio change between factory and current several other manufacturers will post a code since the pulses per revolution doesn’t match up to the expected abs pulses. Not sure on...

I sent in an oil analysis at 12,500 and everything was above normal for the oil. Could have probably hit another 3-4K out of it with no issues.

UPS finally found my bumper when Shrockworks was getting ready to reship.

Not waiting on sliders, but still waiting on my bumper. UPS freight lost it and still attempting to locate..... over a month later. Getting pi$$ed is an understatement.

I use my 4Runner for field service of X-ray equipment at hospitals around the region.
I drive usually 2,000 to 4,500 miles a month. I need the room for tools, test equipment and parts.
I like it. It isn't loaded, but I wanted something I enjoy driving since I spend so much time in it...
