    The big question is.......

Did they fix that driveline clunk with the new design

    Mac or PC?

I prefer Mac for my laptop needs and a PC for my desktop. Mac's strength is in its quality (and I don't mean HD see below for more on that) and construction. I have a 2YO Macbook Pro, but I want the new unibody chassis Macbook Pro sooooooo bad. It is a tank and so slick looking. If the PC...

Do you use Rain-X (or equivalent rain protection)?

They say that, but I don't think that applies to the front windshield. You can defiantly tell that it is on the front side windows, but I don't believe (even if Toyota says so) that it is on the windshield. It just does not repel like the side windows. Also I have had the displeasure of having...

    towing Snowmobiles

Where are you riding at? I live in the Bay Area and tow my sled up there all the time. I ride at Yuba Pass up HWY 49, up pass Sierra City

Windsheild cracked, pics of swap out

Funny you should ask that. I am going thru the process now of replacing my glass due to a VERY TINY chip that turned into a crack across the entire windshield. I have talked to 3 different Service Mgrs at 3 local dealers, and none of them had a clue what I was talking about. All they...

    Brake Clunk?

So Lexus says. trust me, they DO NOT have a permanent fix. My buddy that has a GX470 and they did the "fix" on it and it is back after 2,000 miles. 1 more repair attempt and the lemon law will apply. Don't buy into the line that they have a final fix, they don't.

    Cheap Windshield Glass

That's just the thing. All 3 have been from a chip so tiny, that it isn't even noticable unless your right up on it examining the entire windshield. I mean we are talking so small that you would have to run a ball point pin or a push pin tip over the area to notice anything. To me, that...

    Cheap Windshield Glass

Within 1 year I have had 3 small (tiny) chips that have led to huge cracks in 3 different replacement glass. I have in no other car in my life had a tiny chip turn into a major windshield replacing ordeal. Within 1 year I have had 3 on the 4Runner. WTF??

03 SE X-reas, thought it would corner better?

You want your 4runner to handle alot better, put Goodyear Fortera Triple Treads on, it is a night and day difference.

    V8 Drivers Regular or Premium?

Call me crazy, and some will dispute this, but I CAN feel a performance difference with 91 compared to 87. The engine is a little more peppy and responsive. It's not a huge jump by any means, but my SOTP says it is there. As far as gas mileage, that is hard to say, because you never have the...

    Never driven in snow-please advise

Forgive me if I am wrong, but aren't all 4Runners capable of going into 4WD? I know there are some that are full-time 4WD and some that are part-time 4WD, but even those should have the option to go into 4WD. No?

    Vibration/Shimmy issue common?

Your all off regarding the shimmy/vibration that this poster is talking about. This vibration is well known on the 4Runner and the Lexus GX470. It is drive-train related and occurs during low RPM under light throttle operations. It goes away when the RPM's climb up above about 2,500. If you...

    Fortera Triple Tred

No ice or snow experience yet, but did get a chance to see how they do in the rain. As expected they rock. Hydroplanning resistance is awesome and they grip great on wet roads. Ice/snow review should be coming soon as Tahoe got its first good storm late this weekend.

Do you like the 5-speed tranny?

I really don't care for it much. I always hear how smooth the tranny is on the 4Runner, but there are times in stop and go traffic that it gets confused and sometimes will be in 5th gear at around 30 MPH and if traffic gets moving quicky and you get on it, it drags and then clunks into a few...

    Fortera Triple Tred

Because of the triple tred features, high performance rubber for handling on the edges, the aqua channels to resist hydraplaning, and because I trailer my snowmobile to Tahoe in the winter and wanted the ice zone in the center, and also wanted to stay with an all season tire. It is truely a 4...
