    Brake job on a '99?

When considering rotors, go aftermarket. I had a bad shimmy in my front end, until I got new brakes. It seems I read several times in this forum that oem rotors aren't any good. Just what I heard!

getting 40-60 miles less per full tank

Don't go buy another truck or SUV expecting a change. My father-in-law complains about his Tundra all the time, but he is used to driving a Ford Ranger. I can't seem to make him understand, no matter what truck he gets, he isn't going to get miraculous gas mileage. Be prepared for a big change...

getting 40-60 miles less per full tank

Good advice P nut. That is the first time I've noticed someone using an actual MPG on this site. Of course, I haven't been here long. But that is exactly how I calculate my milage.

HELP! 98' getting BAD gas mileage

I get about 230 in my 98 2wd. I actually calculate mpg when I fill up. The last three fills with city driving were. 18.9, 18.2 and 19.2 mpg. There was a little highway traveling on the last tank. In my opinion though, with these numbers and a v6 engine, this aint that bad.

    Hazy Headlights

I had the same problem with my 95 Eclipse GST (When I still had it). I used Mother's aluminum polish and a little elbow grease, then followed up with some carnuaba wax. Cleared it right up, but it had to be done every six months or so to keep it that way.

    whats it worth?

I just bought a 98 with 148k. Looking at NADA high retail on that one was 8800, middle was 7800 and low was 6800. Check out nadaguides.com then think about how much is invested money wise. Also, if you part it out you will be having to deal with selling all of the parts. Besides the truck will...

How many miles on your 4runner?

I just bought a 98 with 148k on it. I think it's been taken care of. I bought a 94 f150 about 6 years ago with 219k on it and it is over 250k and still running, so I hope the Toyota will be even more reliable.

    Pioneer

I found out what it is. As soon as I get to it again I will quote where I found it. It is an option in the radio called an ASL. Automatic Sound Level. Some later model cars are offered with it and this aftermarket Pioneer offers it as well.

    Pioneer

I've just bought a 98 4runner and someone has installed a pioneer cd/reciever in it. It has the remote, movie display, satellite capability, etc. However, the volume goes up and down on its own. People say its a feature in some cars to have the volume go down when you slow down. Now, my ? is, Is...
