I've just bought a 98 4runner and someone has installed a pioneer cd/reciever in it. It has the remote, movie display, satellite capability, etc. However, the volume goes up and down on its own. People say its a feature in some cars to have the volume go down when you slow down. Now, my ? is, Is there someway to turn this feature off of this pioneer or is it something wired funny in the truck. Just thought I'd see if anyone had suggestions before I look into the dash to see if everything is wired right. Oh yeah, It has a remote start and alarm and someone installed the red light on the A/C panel right above the radio. Not sure if they didn't tighten something up.

Thanks

That doesnt sound normal to me...I have a Pioneer as well, and never heard of that...but with all the electrical stuff they did, it sounds to me like they messed something up :/

I found out what it is. As soon as I get to it again I will quote where I found it. It is an option in the radio called an ASL. Automatic Sound Level. Some later model cars are offered with it and this aftermarket Pioneer offers it as well.
