Free: qty two 2.5 Gen Tundra TRD air filters

I have two TRD oiled air filters (like this) for my 2016 tundra that are just taking up space and I want to give them away. They need cleaning, but I have both the cleaner and oil you can have as well. I've switched back to paper filters. Pick up in San Bruno CA.

    Forum posting question

Can I post some free stuff that are Toyota parts but not 4Runner? Would “All Other Vehicles” be a good place to post it? Thanks!

Free: 3rd Gen OEM roof rack | very used | San Bruno, CA

I have this old roof rack that I took off my 3rd Gen 4Runner and had in a box for ages. It’s very used, paint peeling, etc. however I thought I’d offer it free here before I throw into land fill. I remember one plastic end cap is broken but they are readily available on eBay.

    Solution to Messy Radiator Drain?

I save a few (3) empty one gallon distilled water jugs. Use a wide funnel into the jug. The height of the jug + funnel gets it near the drain plug. Catches every drop. It’s slow and you have to watch it to switch out the jug, but that’s not too much to ask. Then cap the jug, put it off to the...

To buy a new IAC or not

If you decide to go the trial and error route, you might start with the TPS sensor just because you can find an OEM one on eBay for ~$30 right now and it’s easy to replace. Or, if you go the IAC route, the cheapest I found an OEM IAC is $240. A new throttle body which includes both a new IAC...

    P0770, Shift Solenoid E

fwiw, I chased this issue for a long time. Although it kept throwing the code, it drove fine and I never experienced any real drive- or shift-time symptoms. Originally, I started with the throttle position sensor. I cleaned the connector and used some silicone dielectric. That actually solved...

    Short lived lower ball joint

I’ve only recently learned about the LBJ issue and my originals lasted 260k+. I’m not even sure they were bad but had the upper and lower arms changed and it made sense to replace the ball joints too. Is the lower LBJ failure related to lifts or stock suspension as well?

New Shocks and Ride is Horrible

+1 to check rear control arm bushings, esp at 260K. I'm at 270K and just finished replacing all suspension bushings all the way around. If it's a bushing and for suspension, it's been replaced. The rear lower arms were so bad I could literally see through the front and rear of the bushings, i.e...

A very basic how-to: Removing the Intake Manifold

Anyone have the torque specs for the 3 nuts that connect the water outlet to the manifold? I scoured the FSM (and the forum torque spec post) and can't seem to find it for the 5VZ.

How much did you pay for your 3rd gen?

2000 4Runner SR5 Sport, purchased for $23K in 2004 with 42,000 ODO (most likely lease return), now 270,000.
