Mustache Delete + Fender Flare Delete

Sr5 Well one thing we haven't seen yet, to the best of my knowledge, is what the new SR5 looks like. In my dreams, it's much more understated than the tricked-out trims we've seen so far. It could come with the flares and extra paint gone from the get-go.

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

It is a shame not to see the round headlights. Here's-hoping that they might be available as an option; there's plenty of space for them given the giant-black-rectangle underneath the lights in the teaser image above.

Yes, I mean doesn't that look like a split tailgate? And, what's up with the vinyl on the side of the tailgate glass, that looks removable, from what appear to be the creases in it.

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

Yes; that's a great thought. If there were a removable front panel on the roof; that would explain the front roof bulge in the photos. Like the Wrangler, there could be a range of options; like a roll top, soft top, and clear top. This would also explain why there's no roof rails in the teaser...

Best speculation of a 2023 6th generation I have seen

I agree with the speculation that something is up with the roof. 1. I'd guess this would be something like the 70/80 series where the roof has no rails, you have to use clips. Furthermore, I agree that the shark-fin generally looks off, like they photoshopped it in there. Also, what's up with...

    Storage Compartments in Engine Bay...

I put my jumper cables in a plastic bag and tied them up into the spare tire.

Will be buying a 5th gen soon, looking for below invoice advice

Do not value your trade in based on any website other than Craigslist. I would go through Craigslist, find some comparables, then figure you could sell yours without too much trouble for $1000 less than the going price on CL. Here is what I included in my listing. -100 high-res pictures (hosted...

    Greedy dealer?

agree I agree with everything everyone has said. If you want to sell privately: 0) negotiate and purchase new car for ~$500 over invoice from Online Sales Manager 1) get the carmax appraisal 2) get a carwash 3) take a bunch of pictures (at least 20) and host them on photobucket.com (free) 4)...

    Houston buyers

Don't listen to LongBallLarry, that guy must be having marital problems or something. Here was my experience buying a 4Runner in Houston (Feb '10): The Houston dealers all have their inventory online. So, I checked this out for a while, and made a few calls to the dealers and starting asking...

    Consumer Reports is Clueless...

A typically equipped SR5 for $39k? I got my nicely equipped SR5 4x4 for $31.5k. So, yeah, when you overpay by about 25%, I can see how someone might be disappointed. The t4r 'bobbs so much it would make her kids carsick'? This review is a joke. But I do kind of agree, the suspension is a bit soft.

    2011

Good grief This whole debate is blown of of proportion, you can use part time on dry pavement. The owner's manual advises you to drive for at least 10 miles in 4wd each month. It does not say anything about it needing to be in the snow or during a rainstorm. I wouldn't just leave it in 4wd...

    4WD--Please Comment On Experts Advise

I have a 2010 SR5 4x4. In the manual, it states that you are supposed to drive the truck 10 miles per month in 4wd to keep the system lubricated. This worried me some after reading all the horror stories on here about driving a part-time setup on pavement. But, really, does Toyota expect people...

My 4Runner TE Riding On BFG AT 275-70-17s

Yeah that looks great, BFG ATs have such a classic look to them. I would make them compensate you to fix the rims though, there should not be any damage to them. I mean, where would the damage even come from? I would email the pictures to a few shops, get quotes on fixing the wheels, then bring...

    Potential New Owner

Definitely get the 4x4 For only about a thousand dollars more, I would suggest you definitely get the 4x4 option. Also, I would for-sure get the moonroof. I don't have a great basis for comparison, but the moonroof seems especially huge on my 5th gen, great for letting in some more natural...

Dynamatting the doors to improve door feel & road noise

You think? If you use some of this FatMat stuff (on the cheap end, but seems to be ok) it looks like it would cost $60 or so for 25' of it. Again, if this is for decreasing road noise and making the door go "ka-thunk" when you close it, I can't think of a good reason to spend more or bother...
