    roof mounted dvd monitor

dude, put in the headrest system. it's so much easier to install and your passengers (or kids) won't have cricks in their necks after each viewing.

Available HU ??? with Navigation / DVD / BackUp Camera

OUA, based on your feedback, it sounds to me like you're never going to find what you're looking for. You can go ahead and waste your money on a stock POS unit, or you can go with a quality aftermarket, ie. Alpine or Pioneer. Look through this forum, there are plenty of examples with pics of...

Alpine IVA-W200 double-din -- DIY Install plus tips for all DD HU's

Okay, I finally got it working... turns out, the wires are correct, but my splice wasn't exactly working right. It had exposed the metal in the wire, but somehow it just wasn't making contact. I took it apart and re-did it and it seems to be working fine. Thanks, Tarheel, for the volt meter...

Where should i mount my amps?

Try looking behing your rear wheel well panels and see if there's any room. The 03's and up have the stock JBL stuff mounted behind them. If you don't have JBL, I'd imagine there is some space back there.

Alpine IVA-W200 double-din -- DIY Install plus tips for all DD HU's

Yep, I did the foot brake/parking brake dance a hundred times and still no dice. Now, I'm not an EE, but I did break out the volt meter to measure current and the e-brake wire (lt. green) had current flowing (it was jumping between 0 - 9 volts). If it's suppose to be a negative, then shouldn't...

Alpine IVA-W200 double-din -- DIY Install plus tips for all DD HU's

For the Alpine, I needed to hook in to the emergency brake lead and the foot brake lead. e-brake = light green, pin 1 of 24 pin harness at bottom left of driver side fuse panel. foot brake = green/yellow, pin 16 of 16 pin harness at bottom left of driver side fuse panel. According to...

If you have the JBL 10-speaker system, this factory wiring diagram will prove to be invaluable.

Alpine IVA-W200 double-din -- DIY Install plus tips for all DD HU's

Just installed this thing last weekend. In my years of doing about a dozen or so do-it-yourself car stereo installations, I can say that, by far, this 4Runner was the biggest b!tch of them all... mostly due to having to bypass the JBL system and the fact that I had to damn near take the whole...

Various ?s about Pioneer, Eclipse, Alpine, etc nav units

Okay, tarheel... I admit that I have the IB100 hooked to my pioneer, which, as I said, completely sucks as far as interface is concerned. I have not checked out the new IB100II. On the other hand, the one good thing about the IB100 in all it's suckness is a loophole. If you're iPod still has...

    Avic-d1

I'm skeptical with that fix... The problem is that the fixes for the N2 don't usually work for the D1. Just grounding the wire doesn't work like it does on the N2. The D1 not only uses the e-brake for it's safety switch, but also utilizes the speed sensor wire and the GPS. Once the vehicle...

Which method are you going to use for the e-brake bypass, if you don't mind my asking? Mine is still plugged into the brake lead on my F-150 and I was thinking about doing a bypass.

I had installed this unit in my F-150 and it wasn't too bad. In the 4 runner, you'll have to take apart half your dash and center console. I just installed the Alpine W200 this weekend. You will use the existing factory brackets and you may or may not need to modify them. You can throw away...

Various ?s about Pioneer, Eclipse, Alpine, etc nav units

I have the Pioneer AVIC-D1 in my F-150. The navigation (which is same as in D2 and Z1) is awesome... I really like it. Graphics look good, screen and colors are excellent. However, the Pioneer IPOD interface ROYALLY SUCKS! The pioneer is also expandable with a host of options via their...

    Alpine Audio????

Anyone know where to tap into the foot brake wire? Tried the green/yellow wire on 16 pin at fuse box, but doesn't seem to be working. Can't get the additional setup options to come up.

    Alpine Audio????

Excellent... I appreciate the tips! I'm looking forward to getting this bad boy in and going. Since I have the JBL, I found a harness assembly that's suppose to integrate aftermarket stereo to the JBL. I'm skeptical, so we'll see how it goes. I'm sure I'll have to do some major rigging. Thanks!
